Film Company LEGIO FELIX Successfully Pitches New Military-Historical Drama “Guardians of the Neva”
Talented creators from Krasnoyarsk will take part in production of a feature film dedicated to the heroic deeds of teenagers in besieged Leningrad.
At the live pitching session for children and youth film projects hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the LEGIO FELIX Film Company successfully presented its new military-historical film “Guardians of the Neva” and secured federal financial backing.
The directorial chair for this feature — which highlights the story of teenagers saving cultural landmarks in Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War — will be taken by Krasnoyarsk-based director Irina Gobozashvili (known for The New Year’s Letter, To Start Over, and Towards the Dream). According to the plot, an architect recruits orphans and troubled youth into a restoration school. While saving architectural monuments, these children undergo a true “school of life”.
The film’s cast features prominent actors Evgeny Tsyganov, Elena Panova, and Boris Khvoshnyansky. The production team includes Krasnoyarsk producer Vladimir Permyakov, well-known for his regional projects Maslenitsa and The Shaman, alongside Andrey Semenov and Ilya Kulikov. The screenplay was developed under the auspices of the “Autor” Autonomous Non-Profit Organization (ANO).
Atmosphere Kino has been named the official distributor of the project. The theatrical release of this historical drama is scheduled for April 26, 2029.
This year, 47 projects vied for financial support, including fairy tales, family dramas, coming-of-age stories, adventure films, stories about animals, and even science fiction. The pool of creators brought together both seasoned directors and debutants in full-length narrative fiction.
