A chance for future filmmakers: Industrial Film Laboratory is looking for the best script ideas!

The Guild of Screenwriters of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia established the Industrial Film Laboratory in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories.

The Industrial Film Laboratory, which will be conducted in 2025 in the Altai and Krasnoyarsk regions with the assistance of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Culture, has announced a creative competition for screenplays for short feature films.

The project partners include the Altai region’s Ministry of Culture and the Siberian Federal University’s Institute of Film Industry, with funding from ANO «National Priorities».

Applications are accepted until April 1, 2025.

We are looking for narrative ideas in any genre that talk about the issues of contemporary production and the heroes who solve them — engineers, workers, scientists, and managers. A general knowledge with the «matter part» is required.

The laboratory will run until the end of the year, from scriptwriting to film premieres. The laboratory’s members will include aspiring scriptwriters and directors, cameramen, sound engineers, editors, and producers.

They will be required to complete a comprehensive online curriculum of practical seminars and master workshops in their chosen professions, as well as attend in-person film intensives led by renowned professional mentors.

The work of the Laboratory begins with a narrative competition. The process of developing film screenplays will be complemented by the selection of film crew members, who will be required to defend their production plans.
