Application period continues for the Short Film Competition of the Fund for Regional Cinematography Support of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation

Authenticity and new cinematographic language – the Fund for Regional Cinematography Support (FRCS) is seeking applications for experimental and documentary film projects!

Applications for the Short Film Competition of the Fund for Regional Cinematography Support of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation are now being accepted until March 29, 2026.

The Competition directorate accepts non-fiction films dedicated to regional stories and raising issues relevant to Russian society.

For the first time this year, the Fund will support experimental documentary cinema—films created at the intersection of genres, utilizing new forms of cinematic language and innovative means of artistic expression.

“We are constantly searching for new cinematic languages, and experimental film is a perfect fit for this challenge. If you plan to use neural networks, VR, or explore your vision in different genres, we are happy to consider your ideas. This is exactly the case where form is more important than content.
