Representatives of Yenisei Kino take part in the Regional Cinematography Forum “New Vector. Siberia”

Novosibirsk will host the II Siberian Forum of Regional Cinematography «New Vector. Siberia» from March 20 to 22, which is an important event in the film business. Over 100 filmmakers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Novosibirsk region, the Krasnoyarsk region, Gorno-Altaisk, Omsk, Barnaul, Tomsk, and Kemerovo will participate.

Krasnoyarsk region was represented at the forum by First Deputy General Director Alexander Chervov and Head of the Department for Assistance to the Organization of Film Shooting Anastasia Sabinina of the KGAUK «Yenisei Kino,» an authorized organization of the Krasnoyarsk region Film Commission.

At the business platform «Presentation of film studios and film commissions of the Siberian Federal District,» moderators of which were the head of the Regional Cinematography Forum «New Vector. Siberia» Dmitry Yakunin and film critic, producer, program director of the “Original+” streaming services festival Susanna Alperina, Alexander Chervov presented the resource potential of the region, accumulated over the past years in the field of the film industry.

Their film studios and commissions were also presented by: the film company «Art Efes», the studio «Kto-production», Novosibirsk feature film studio «Kraski», ANO «Film Commission Altai», GAUK «Kuzbasskino» from Kemerovo, the film company “DoronkinProject”, and the studio “CAST” production from Tomsk, among others.

As part of the event, films by Krasnoyarsk filmmakers will be exhibited during planned cinema screenings for forum participants and Novosibirsk citizens. «Where Our Home Is: Khakassia» by Dmitry Kvashnin and Vladimir Tarasov, a joint production of Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Moscow «Hair Salon In Search Of A Good Hairdresser» by Lidiya Filippova, a feature film «In the Stream of Three Elements» by Irina Gobozashvili, and a film almanac «Krasnoyarsk Brief» by filmmakers Elizaveta Boyarinova, Ivan Chernikov, and Anastasia Beloshapkina. In addition to forum participants, Novosibirsk locals will witness the work of Krasnoyarsk directors.

Yuri Petukhov, First Deputy Governor of Novosibirsk region, and Irina Rudkovskaya, Deputy Minister of Culture of the region, attended the event’s opening ceremony. Dmitry Yakunin, General Director of the FPRK Production Center and General Producer of the New Vector Forum, offered his experiences.

«The New Vector Forum is a working instrument, a form of film market, for securing partner assistance for already filmed and upcoming film productions. For us, the choices and agreements that will be executed following the event are critical.”

The forum featured educational seminars, master workshops, and laboratories to enable emerging experts learn new skills while seasoned professionals shared their expertise.

As part of the forum initiative, open platforms began identifying and replicating best practices from regional cinema clusters in Russia and the Siberian Federal District.
