A gathering of the Krasnoyarsk Region Film Commission took place on 6th October
On 6th October, the Krasnoyarsk Region Film Commission held a meeting
to assess applications received for the first round of competitive selection of subsidies for reimbursing part of the costs associated with producing national films (including parts of national films) in the Krasnoyarsk region in 2023.
Four film companies that filmed in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in 2023 submitted their applications for subsidies. Two film projects comprised of segments from the renowned Russian series «Nevsky-7» and «First Department-4», produced by film company «Triix Media», a documentary film backed by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation — «Kanon», created by film company «Yenisei Film» and a feature-length film, some of which was shot in the southern region of Krasnoyarsk — «Brave Guys», produced by the film studio «Wind of Change».
Filming of a segment from the feature film series «Nevsky» occurred in August 2023 within the southern zones of the Krasnoyarsk region and Minusinsk city. The final scene of the series was shot in Minusinsk during the city’s 200th anniversary celebration, resulting in an authentic portrayal of local culture on screen.
Part of the feature series «First Department-4» is scheduled to be released by Triix Media in October 2023 with the backing of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk region and the Republic of Khakassia.
The documentary «Canon» by Yenisei Film was filmed in 2023 in the villages of Sosnovoborsk, Turukhansk, and Kuragino within the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The film offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Russia and the traditions upheld by the Old Believers, passed down through generations for their preservation.
Part of the Wind of Change film studio’s «Brave Guys» feature was filmed in Shushensky District in August 2023. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation supported the project.
The Krasnoyarsk Region Film Commission was established through a Government Decree on 28th February 2023.
The Krasnoyarsk Region Film Commission comprises officials from the ministries and departments of Krasnoyarsk Region, the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Region, the Traffic Police Department of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Region, and the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Region.
On 23 August 2023, the Krasnoyarsk Krai Government implemented the Procedure and Conditions for Granting Subsidies to Film Organisations to Reimburse Part of the Costs Associated with Creating National Films in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
More than 20 regional film projects are currently in production within the Krasnoyarsk region for the upcoming year of 2023. Eight of these projects are supported by and being filmed under the Krasnoyarsk Region Documentary Film grant programme. Additionally, two other film projects have received support from «Yenisei Kino» after being crowned the champions of the Krasnoyarsk regional film projects pitching competition at the II International Forum of Film Producers.
In total, eight federal film productions are also set to take place within the Krasnoyarsk region during 2023.
