"Blood Type": a story of children's strength and hope on the screen from May 8th!

Be sure to check out the cinema during the May holidays! The powerful film «Blood Type» directed by Maxim Brius will be shown in 33 municipal digital cinemas and 10 private cinemas in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

This is not just a film, it is a heartfelt story told by children for children based on real testimonies and archival documents about the fate of children who survived the horrors of the Vyritsy concentration camp during the Great Patriotic War.
The plot takes place in November 1943 in Vyritsa, where the Nazis create a «shelter» for children, which turned their lives into a terrible nightmare. Despite the fear, hunger and cold, these children found the strength to fight and believe in freedom.

The project is aimed at preserving the truth about war crimes, which should not be forgotten, especially by our younger generations, in order to prevent their repetition and falsification of history in the future.»

Some fascinating details about the making of the film «Blood Type», which make this project especially unique and touching:

More than 300 children took part in the filming, which took place in the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg.
The main part of the filming was organized on the shores of Lake Ladoga, in a former children’s camp near the Road of Life and the Torn Ring memorial, places with deep historical significance.
On the first day of filming, the participants laid flowers at the memorial in the village of Zaitsevo, honoring the memory of Soviet civilians who were victims of the Nazi genocide.
The cast includes guys from the regional branches of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth «Movement of the First» in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
Filming took place at a temperature of -25 degrees, including evenings. The young actors note that the most difficult thing was to experience and convey the emotional depth of the film’s events.
