Applications for participation in the third national film award “Heroes of a Big Country” are still being accepted

This film award was set up in 2021 in order to revive the culture and competencies in the production of films that convey important moral and spiritual values.

The film award is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, the DNA of Russia Project, New Media Workshop, as well as with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Agency for Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Residing Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

Participation conditions and selection criteria

The fiction films, documentaries, and animation films, series, and short-length films released no earlier than on October 01, 2023, may participate in the competition. The main requirement is content that does not distort any historical details and does not create any negative images of Russia and its figures.

The award includes three categories:

1. Thematic projects;
2. Industrial projects;
3. Special projects.

All projects will be presented to young people with research into their impact on the viewers. The film award forum will include the expert reports, activities of the conceptual centers, a plenary session, and an award ceremony.

The project submission term will last until September 25, 2025. The award ceremony will take place on February 6, 2026, at the Russia National Center in Moscow.
