Filming of the Gripping Series “One of Us”

Cinema in the Heart of Siberia

From July 21 to September 11, the Krasnoyarsk Region served as the backdrop for the filming of the gripping new drama series “One of Us”. Directed by Denis Neimand, the series is produced by the 3X Media Film Company by order of the NTV television network.

The production was made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region, “Yenisey Kino”, the Krasnoyarsk Region Film Commission, and “Siberia 3X Media”,alongside special assistance from federal agencies: the FSB, GUFSIN (Federal Penitentiary Service), and the National Guard of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya).

This feature-length drama is based on real events, telling the story of an FSB officer who goes undercover into a closed religious community.

According to the plot, FSB officer Andrey Filatov (played by Kirill Baloban) is tasked with infiltrating the “Church of the Last Revelation”, a reclusive religious sect led by the self-proclaimed messiah Illarion. To win the trust of the cult members and protect his cover, Filatov must completely transform his life and endure a series of harrowing trials.

A significant portion of the filming took place in the region’s most breathtaking natural landscapes, including the city of Divnogorsk, the settlement of Ust-Mana, and the Emelyanovsky District, as well as various urban locations across the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Local industry professionals actively contributed to the production, and hundreds of residents took part as background actors. In total, the project brought together 44 professional actors, 7 on-set specialists, and around 500 extras from the local community.

Over the course of 35 shooting days in Krasnoyarsk, the crew fell in love with the region, deeply moved by the sheer majesty, beauty, and raw power of Siberian nature.

We can’t wait for the series to premiere so we can admire our familiar native landscapes on screen and follow the gripping twists of the plot with bated breath!
