The 28th modernized cinema hall was opened in Krasnoyarsk region!
On December 19, 2024, in the village of Boguchany, Krasnoyarsk region, a grand opening of a modernized cinema hall was held in the District Community Center “Yantar”. This was the penultimate event in a series of openings of modernized cinema halls as part of the national project «Culture» supported by the Federal Fund for Social and Economic Support of Cinematography.
Boguchany’s history is strongly linked to aviation and the region’s largest hydroelectric power station, the Boguchanskaya HPP. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century the village was well-known for its dairy output , with Siberian butter sent to Europe sparking dumping concerns. The Boguchansky District covers 54 thousand square kilometers, which is equivalent to nearly two Belgiums or half of Bulgaria. Nowadays, Residents of Krasnoyarsk Territory’s largest settlement, located on the left bank of the Angara, may view premiere films in current quality alongside the rest of the country.
The opening of the 28th modernized cinema hall in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in the hamlet of Boguchany, marks another step toward providing an accessible and high-quality cultural environment for people of the region’s most remote areas. “We strive to ensure that every inhabitant of our vast region has the opportunity to fully participate in its cultural life. And the national project «Culture» can help us with this. I am confident that Boguchany’s upgraded cinema hall will become a pleasant and helpful site of recreation for village inhabitants and visitors, bringing together friends and entire families and establishing new excellent traditions of combined visits to premieres!»- remarked Arkady Zinov, Krasnoyarsk Territory’s Minister of Culture.
Regional State Autonomous Cultural Institution «Yenisei Kino» professionals have traditionally offered methodological assistance to regional municipal authorities in drafting the relevant tender documents and updating the movie hall within the framework of the national project «Culture».
The newly renovated cinema hall is outfitted with cutting-edge technology, including a powerful film projector with 3D support, a full-surround audio system, a wide-format screen, and a modern ticketing system. Particular attention is taken to accessibility difficulties; the hall is outfitted with individual audio description devices, allowing viewers with visual impairments to experience film premieres on an equal footing with others.
Before the initial screening, audiences were shown a selection of tales from the Yenisei Meridian newsreel, which was created by Yenisei Kino. The stories «Family Camp for Large Families» and «Putorana Plateau» presented viewers to the unique culture and natural environment of Krasnoyarsk region.
The opening feature was the family animated picture «Domovenok Kuzya» (directed by Viktor Lakisov, Russia, 6+). This showing marked a turning point in the history of film screenings in Boguchany, and each visit to the rebuilt cinema will now be treated as a holiday for the town’s citizens.
Modern cinema is becoming more accessible in even the most rural areas of Russia, thanks to projects such as the modernization of cinema halls as part of the national project «Culture».
