The 25th upgraded cinema hall in the Krasnoyarsk Krai held its jubilee opening!

The residents of Karatuzskoye rural area now get an excellent opportunity to watch the premiere films with the rest of the country in modern quality. Karatuzskoye is a rural area in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, located in the southeastern part of the Minusinsk Hollow in the spurs of the Eastern Sayan Mountains and in the basin of the Amyl River, which at its confluence with the Kazyr River forms the Tuba River flowing into the Yenisey. On November 27, 2024 the grand opening of the Sputnik Cinema Hall in the community center of Karatuzskiy district, Karatuzskoye rural area, Krasnoyarsk Krai. It became the 25th cultural facility in the region where the cinema hall was renovated with the support of the Federal Foundation for Social and Economic Support of Cinematography (Cinema Foundation) as part of the Culture National Project. The maximum amount of funds available to support a single cinema hall is RUB 9 million.

“The opening of a new cinema hall in the Karatuzskoye rural area is another step in strengthening the cultural infrastructure of our region. Now residents will have the option to go to a modern cinema hall with new opportunities for high-quality family leisure. I would like to congratulate the residents on this momentous ocassion! I am convinced that the cinema hall will become a focal point and a location for viewers of various generations to communicate,” said Arkady Zinov, Krasnoyarsk Krai’s Minister of Culture, in a video message to the residents and visitors of the Karatuzskoye rural area.

Konstantin Tyunin, the head of the Karatuzsky district, congratulated the residents of the settlement on the opening of the cinema hall.

“Now that we are opening a present-day cinema hall, I am tremendously excited for the younger generation who can fully touch this magic of cinema. I hope that the rich and distinctive character of our neighborhood will someday be reflected in the films and that the people of the Karatuzsky district will eventually also appear as characters.”

The hall was equipped with modern digital equipment: a high-powered 3D film projector, surround sound technology, a widescreen and movie ticket machines. Moreover, thanks to individual devices for audio description, viewers with visual impairments will be able to watch premieres on a par with all others.

Before the screening, the audience was presented a selection of stories from Yenisey Meridian (motion picture magazine) produced by Yenisey Kino: Big Family Camp, Huts on the Pillars, and Putorana Plateau.

Meanwhile, the screening of the family film Manyunya: Adventures in the Village (directed by D. Gular) became a new page in the history of film screenings in the Karatuzskoye rural area.

By the end of the year, Krasnoyarsk Krai will open three more upgraded cinema halls in the urban locality of Kozulka and the rural areas of Tyukhtet and Boguchany.

Over the course of the Cinema Foundation program in 2024, about 1,270 cinema halls have been opened in 81 regions of Russia, making cinema affordable even in small localities. The goal of the program is to upgrade and equip cinema halls with cutting-edge equipment, thus expanding cultural areas and increasing the availability of Russian cinema premieres. Since 2016, the Krasnoyarsk Krai has received 180 million rubles on a competitive basis from the Cinema Foundation for these projects during the period of the program.
