In 2024, the Krasnoyarsk Krai regional budget will provide a 50-million-ruble rebate to four motion picture films.

On October 29, a meeting of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission was held upon review of the applications for participation in the next stage of the competitive selection process for financial reimbursement of part of the expenses arising from the production of national films (or parts of national films) in the Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2024.

The results of a Film Commission meeting are the first time four motion picture companies will get a subsidy for the reimbursement of a portion of their expenditures totaling 50 million rubles. In 2024, film companies spent a record RUB 116.6 million to shoot films in Krasnoyarsk Krai. 152 filming sessions were arranged for this purpose. The Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Krai and Yenisey Kino were consulted and provided information support for the shooting of the films.

This initiative is implemented pursuant to the law “On State Support for the Cinematography,” which came into force on January 1, 2023. The Law No. 4-1300 of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, adopted on November 24, 2022, includes support for national film projects created in the region.

Between 2023 and 2024, 176 professional actors and representatives of creative associations were involved in filming in the region. Another 827 crowd actors and more than 190 specialists involved in various aspects of film production also participated in filming.

The biggest supported project will be the film company OOO Triix Media (St. Petersburg) for the Ronin series, which tells the story of a Siberian postman who is here to support anyone in need. The plot of the series is full of unexpected twists and thrilling moments. Filming of the 20-episode project lasted for six months in Ust-Mana, Sliznevo, Listvenka and other iconic locations of the Krasnoyarsk Krai.

OOO Mechta Film Company (Krasnoyarsk) will be supported for shooting a full-length feature film Left Before the New Year. The main character of the film, Vaso from Tbilisi, comes to Krasnoyarsk to find his illegitimate daughter, whom he has recently learned about. While looking for her, he meets locals who help him on his difficult journey. The filming was held on the square of a big concert hall, at the Krasnoyarsk airport, and on the city embankment.

OOO ArtVeka Film Company (Moscow) will be supported for the creation of the project I Am a Recovering Alcoholic, comprising three novels, each of which addresses the addiction issues and the return to a normal life. The filming was held in the Regional Museum, the central embankment and on the streets of Krasnoyarsk

OOO Abradox Film Company (Novosibirsk) will be paid for the shooting of the short documentary Savages, which tells about 13-year-old Temych, who went rafting on the Mane River in Siberia. Filming was held at the railway station of Krasnoyarsk, on the Mana River and in Vyezzhy Log village.

It is worth noting that seven live-action projects were filmed in the Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2024.
