Casting Call for the Short Film “Yokhor”

Krasnoyarsk | Filming Dates: October 17, 18, and 19

We are officially seeking talented actors and performers for roles in the upcoming short film “Yokhor”!

ABOUT THE FILM

Seventeen-year-old Aldar faces a life-defining crossroads: follow in the footsteps of his father and older brother to work at the local factory, or risk everything for his passion for the stage. When two critical interviews land on the exact same day, it becomes a point of no return. To stay true to himself, he must confront and challenge his family’s deep-rooted expectations.

ROLES AVAILABLE

ALDAR’S FATHER (Approx. 50 years old, Asian appearance):
A working-class man—stern, taciturn, with a commanding, heavy gaze. A traditional, old-school figure who is used to hard labor and keeps his emotions closely guarded. He loves his son deeply but lacks the words to show it.

ALDAR (17 years old, Asian appearance):
The film’s protagonist. Shy and seemingly quiet at first glance, he possesses a strong inner core and a fierce desire to forge his own path. He is torn between his family’s duty and his dream of performing. Strong dancing skills are strictly required!

CAUCASIAN TRADITIONAL DANCER (Ages 17–25):
A charismatic young man with a slight regional accent. A fellow dancer who has personally walked the difficult path of being an “outsider”. We are looking for exceptional plasticity, natural charisma, and the ability to convey powerful emotions through movement. Strong dancing skills are strictly required!

Prior acting experience is welcomed but not mandatory. AGE RANGES SPECIFIED ABOVE ARE FLEXIBLE.

BACKGROUND ACTORS / EXTRAS (All ages):
Men and women of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities to participate in dynamic dance sequences and other various scenes. We are searching for vibrant, open-minded individuals who are ready to shine on camera. If you have any background in dance, please make sure to highlight it in your application!

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit the following materials:

• Personal Information: Full name, phone number, age, height, and clothing size.
• Photos: A current headshot, full-body photo, and profile shot.
• Video Introduction: A short video-slate introducing yourself (1–2 minutes).
• Experience: Be sure to note any previous acting or dancing background.
