The Film Commission Meeting for the Krasnoyarsk Krai took place on April 15

This meeting was held with the intention of assessing the applications that were approved for the competitive initial round of selection for the financial reimbursement of a part of the costs related to the production of national films (or parts of national films) in the Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2024.

Ten film companies presented their projects that are planned to be shot in Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2024.. The Krasnoyarsk Region is expected to incur costs exceeding 300 million rubles for the production of national films by film companies.

One of the film projects is a full-length feature film called “The New Year is still only…,” which was shot in the city of Krasnoyarsk in February 2024 by the Krasnoyarsk film company “Mechta.”

Film projects include full-length story films, documentaries from Krasnoyarsk Krai film companies, and series seasons of well-known Russian movie studios. Siberian Federal District regions are also included.

May/June 2024 is when major Russian film companies plan to begin production on a number of story feature films. Among them, «Five minutes of silence. Forests and rivers» by PRIOR production (Moscow), “Ronin” by Triix Media (Saint-Petersburg), “The Edge of the Worlds” by Black Box Production (Moscow). In Krasnoyarsk, the film studios intend to use over 230 shooting shifts.

In April 2024, the Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission underwent changes. The new Chairman has become Medvedev Aleksey Mikhailovich, the Deputy Chairman of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Government; Arkady Vladimirovich Zinov, the Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission, and Irina Gennadevna Belova, the Director General of Yenisey Kino has been assigned as the Secretary of Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission. Moreover, the Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission included heads of ministries and departments of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The certifying authority of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission is Yenisey.

In February 2022, the Government Resolution paved the way for the establishment of the Krasnoyarsk Krai Film Commission with the aim of attracting film producers to film in Siberia.

The Government of Krasnoyarsk Krai has established the procedure and conditions for awarding subsidies to cinematographic companies for financial support (reimbursement) of some of the expenses associated with the production of national films on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Region in August 2023.

In 2023, four film companies that spent more than 20 million rubles on regional projects earned a subsidy of slightly more than 8 million rubles. More than 20 regional film projects were carried out in the Krasnoyarsk Krai in 2023.

Support and filming of 8 projects was provided under the “Documentary of Krasnoyarye”’ grant program. Yenisey Kino supported two more film projects, which won the Competition (Pitching) for film projects in Krasnoyarsk Krai at the II International Forum of Film Producers. Krasnoyarsk Krai’s federal film companies shot 8 projects in 2023.
