A film about the legendary Krasnoyarsk aviatrix has been selected for the international film festival

A documentary about the legendary Krasnoyarsk aviatrix and athlete Irina Markova, produced by Yenisei Kino, has been selected for the international aviation film festival Flightfest 2026.

This large-scale festival, which unites a passion for the sky and cinema, will be held from September 11th to 13th in Queensland, Australia, at Bundaberg Airport.

The heroine of the film “The Sky of Irina Markova” is a USSR Master of Sports in aeronautical sports, a multiple prize winner, and the overall winner of the Russian Aerobatic Championships. She has been flying since 1985. Irina Markova’s personal story, archival photographs, and flight footage come together in the film to tell the story of a person for whom aviation has become a life’s work.
