The Second Stage of Film Production Subsidies Launched in the Krasnoyarsk Region

On September 1, the second stage of the competition for film production subsidies kicked off. These subsidies aim to reimburse a portion of the expenses incurred by film companies producing national films (or parts of them) within the Krasnoyarsk Region (commonly known as rebates).

Four applications successfully advanced to this second stage of the selection process:

• “Maslenitsa” (Feature-length fiction film by “Legio Felix” Film Company, Moscow)
• “Veselchak U” (Feature-length fiction film by “Vodorod 2011” Film Company, Moscow)
• “Our Special Forces” (Fiction TV series by “Kinoprime” Film Company, St. Petersburg)
• “One of Us” (Fiction TV series by “Kinoprime” Film Company, St. Petersburg)

The second stage of the selection process runs from September 1 to September 30, 2026 (inclusive).

It is worth noting that film industry development is actively booming in the Krasnoyarsk Region. Major film companies are showing a rapidly growing interest in producing movies within the region. In 2022, the region passed the Law “On State Support for Cinematography in the Krasnoyarsk Region”. Later, in February 2023, a Government Decree established the Krasnoyarsk Region Film Commission, whose goal is to attract filmmakers to shoot their projects in the region.

In August 2023, the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region approved the Regulations and Conditions for Granting Subsidies to Film Production Organizations. These subsidies are designed to provide financial support and reimburse a portion of the costs incurred during the production of national films (or parts thereof) within the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Region. The very first competitive selection process for granting these subsidies to filmmaking organizations was held later that same year.

Between 2023 and 2025, a total of 11 film production companies received financial reimbursement for shooting national films in the Krasnoyarsk Region.
