Applications are now open for the 25th Baikal International Film Festival “People and Environment” named after Valentin Rasputin.
The Film Festival is organized by the Irkutsk Regional Film Fund, Irkutskkino LLC, and ANO Kinoforum, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Irkutsk Region.
The Film Festival will take place from September 14 to 22, 2026, in Irkutsk.
Filmmakers from around the world are invited to submit feature films, documentaries, animated films, and fulldome productions that explore the relationship between humans and nature.
Competition Categories:
- Grand Prix
- Best Documentary Film — M. Romm Prize
- Best Popular Science Film — I. Cherskiy Prize
- Best Feature Film — L. Gaidai Prize
- Best Full-Dome Film — A. Don-Otello Prize
- Best Animated Film
- Baikal Prize for the Acuteness of the Issue Raised
As in previous years, special awards will be presented by the Youth Jury, the Media Community, and the Audience Choice.
The Grand Prix is 500,000 rubles.
As part of the Film Festival, the traditional Baikal Pitch for Film Projects will take place, offering emerging directors and screenwriters the opportunity to present their future film ideas to the jury.
